I keep going back and forth on these 2 hotels- have laPerle booked but am not sure if the%26quot;atmosphere%26quot; is what I am expecting of Paris- I%26#39;m thinking high ceilings and large windows- bright and cherry- all reviews on both hotels are excellent- is rue dauphine an extremely busy street? If anyone has stayed or has some knowledge of these - please let me know-we leave in 2 weeks!!! I keep scouting these forums!!:) Thanks in advance!!

Rue des Canettes is very nice. Lots of quite good restaurants especially italian restaurants 9try Santa Lucia close to St-Sulpice). Lots of people in the area at night but that,s atmosphere.

Both streets are pretty busy, since lots of restos (more in Rue des Canettes) that stay busy late.
Rue des Canettes is pedestrian, while Rue Dauphine will have some traffic noise. If I were you, I wouldn%26#39;t change and since you%26#39;ll leave soon, you may not even get into Le Regent.
Relax and concentrate on the stuff you want to see and the places you%26#39;d like to have a meal.

Rue des Canettes is a narrow pedestrian street.
Not sure you will get a lot of light there. Unless there is a courtyard on the back.
Not even sure about the high ceilings either. In that neighborhood (at least in many small side streets like rue des Cannettes) you have a lot of regular ceilings with beams.

thank you all for the advice- I can get into Le Regent- about $20e/night more- the price doesn%26#39;t concern me- its the whole%26quot;experience%26quot;- my husband thinks I am crazy- how much time are we going to be in our hote anyway? We are only there for 4 nights. Any other advice? We plan to take it easy -no firm plans except Notre Dame-Louve -Eifell Tower- lots of walking-eating and good wine- any suggestions? Must sees?
