Train or Plane - Paris to Avignon

Needs someone%26#39;s advice. I%26#39;m travelling alone and want to know whether it would be better to catch a train or plane from Paris to Avignon.

Plane - would have to catch a taxi or metro to Orly. Don%26#39;t know how much taxi would cost but I can get a flight for 28 euro. Takes an hour

Train - costs about 120 Euro - first class and takes about 3 1/2 hours

Firstly I don%26#39;t understand why you%26#39;re asking the question. You already know all the details so surely it%26#39;s a personal choice as to the train or the plane?

Also Paris to Avignon on train should only cost €110 (first class) if you book 30 days in advance and the journey takes 2 hours 30 minutes.

The plane takes an hour but you have to get there an hour in advance and pay for a taxi to and from each airport. I%26#39;d take the train :)

Train is the better way.

I don%26#39;t know where you find a place for 28 euros for the plane (be careful if the taxes are included).

The train station in Avignon is not downtown, you have to take a taxi or a shuttle to go there.

Thanks guys - appreciate the advice

Train from Paris to Avignon is 2h40mins, not 3 1/2 hours

Train ride is so short, it is not convenient to fly IMO. As suggested book your train in advance and you will get a better price.

Airfrare mentioned: is it with Easy Jet?

We took the train from Paris to Avignon. Travelled in 2nd class and it was a lovely experience, able to enjoy the countryside and much more room than a plane seat. It took 2 hours 45 minutes.

Enjoy your travels!
