I have been reading many, many posts about all the options on getting into the city from CDG. The bottom line for us is convenience. Is there consencus (sp?) on the most convenient and stress free way into the city?

Stress-free=Taxi. If you are OK with a $65 cab ride, you will arrive at your hotel with (virtully) no problems and not have to worry about anything except having the cab-fare (in Euros) in your pocket before you leave the airport. We use the RER because we live near Chatelet and know the RER/Metro system but I%26#39;d take a taxi if I were just coming to Paris for the first time.

We taxied. very simple .

Is the price fixed? Do we have to attempt to negotiate a price, or do we just jump in one a hang on?

Taxis are metered like in the US. It%26#39;s meter-rate + any airport/extra luggage fees. If traffic is bad, it can be more.

I went from CDG to hotel du Champ de Mars in exactly 37 minutes with a suitcase on rollers and a camera bag with the RER and transfer to the metro, no problem whatsoever

It%26#39;s a taxi, hands down !
