KDKSAIL help please:TGV Paris-Geneva Prems fares...

Hi all,

Darth Anonymous was very helpfull on my other thread about Versailles Fetes-de-nuit tickets, and I now seek help on Paris-Geneva TGV tickets.

I took KDKSails advice on many other posts to get tickets directly from voyages-sncf instead of raileurope, and got a %26quot;prems%26quot; fare for 2 adults(2nd class) for around 74 Euros. What i read on this board is that this is just for the ticket, and the seats have to be reserved seperately, for additional fare.

Could someone please clarify , and throw some light on how much more should i expect to pay for the actual reservation, where can i pay it etc. I am debating wether to use easyjet and fly Geneva-Orly and stay at Orly to catch our flight back to theUS the next day, or TGV into Gare De Lyon, spend one more night in the city of lights and then take a shuttle to CDG the next day.

Many thanks for all your help!We will be in Paris Sept3rd to 9th...anyone else there?Would be fun to meet.

Regards,

Vik.

All TGV seats must be reserved at an extra charge (over and above the basic fare). Wht don%26#39;t they include both prices at fare is still a mystery to me (probably because of the numerous passes that are sold).

The prems fares include seat reservations. So you have no extra fees or extra steps to take.

Thanks for both your replies. I am still a little confused, but I am going with the belief that the PREMS fares include reservations. I will check with the first SNCF Boutique(maybe at CDG) on the day of my arrival to see what i need to do.

Thanks again,

Vik.

Just to clarify further. All TGV bookings require a seat reservation. You cannot make a TGV booking without reserving a seat. The only case in which you would have to buy a seat reservation only is if you are traveling with a Eurail pass which basically gives you prepaid access to all the trains but does not include reservations. Hope that helps.
