Designer Knockoffs

I am heading to Paris in sept and I was wondering if anyone knows where a good place to go shopping in Paris for designer knockoffs/ blackmarket.

I have heard over the years that trying to

do this is bad news. You face confiscation,

possible fine or worse.

There are SO MANY wonderful things about

Paris; enjoy those.

Hi toby

If you do a search of the forums for %26quot;fakes%26quot; you%26#39;ll find out that not only are the French Authorities clamping down very hard on fakes, but if caught you will be fined for the value fo the genuine article and have your fake taken from you. If you are caught with more than four items of fake goods you can be tried and convicted as a dealer.

Not to mention the fact that by supporting the counterfeit market you are giving money at best to organised criminals and at worst to fund terrorism.

Also, by buying fake goods you are heloing to chip away at the equity of the brands whose goods you like so much that you want to buy copies of them in the first place.

Yes i recommend strongly that you do not do it. The French police is quite harsh on this now, as many of these companies suffering from counterfeits are French (chanel, vuitton, lacoste etc...) and you will get a fine, which i think is rightful. The companies suffer a lot from these counterfeits which are of a bad quality. I can%26#39;t afford the real ones, so what? It wouldn%26#39;t occur to me to buy a counterfeit one...

The good news is, Paris has some wonderful consignment stores and flea markets. (I have a thing for handbags, but not the budget to match) I bought a Prada, LV, and Christian Dior and didn%26#39;t break the bank. Found the Prada at Chereminippies and the LV and Christian Dior at one of the flea markets. All are authentic and in good condition, but a few seasons old.

No wonder you are grining in your photo !!!

The Burburry wrap around my neck that I found for a killer deal helps with the big fat grin.

I can see that now !!

tobykom,

In Italy the police are currently fining tourists around 3000 euros for buying knock-off or fake designer products. The law has been in place since March this year across Europe. I posted more info on knock-offs or fakes on the Venice web forum.

Jdalton51 - ditch the Burberry!! Here in the UK it is popular with people who of plenty of money and zero taste, and football hooligans (people who go to the game for a fight with other fans not to watch the match).

Burberry wearers tend to get lumped together under the general name of chavs (not a compliment and no doubt TA will add it to its list of banned words!)
