A group of us are planning a trip to Paris in November. We have reservations at the Berne Opera Hotel....but the agency has added another place to choose from...Hotel Mondial. Does anyone have any advice or experience with either? Thanks!

There are reviews here on TA for both. More for Berne Opera.
Just put the hotels%26#39; names into the search box (upper left corner on your screen).
Did you read them yet? They don%26#39;t sound too bad.

Hotel Mondial is a MUCH BETTER location than the Berne Opera.
Look at your map or go to www.mappy.com and enter each street address.
Berne Opera is just off the St Lazare railroad tracks, at metro: Rome. There is nothing much of interest to walk to from this location, other than a hike up to Montmartre or over to Parc Monceau.
Mondial is just off blvd Montmartre by the covered passages (Jouffrey and Panorama), Musee Grevin, walkable to the Opera Garnier, etc. Near several metros: Grands Blvds, Richelieu-Drouot, Bourse, etc.

The Gare Lazare area is rather dreary during the day and noisy at night, alot of police sirens and traffic noise. We stayed in the Mercure there 2 years ago. It is a pretty long walk to anything of interest. We have also stayed at the Mercure Roncerey on Hausman and really liked the area. My favorite tea shop is in the passage. I believe it is called Valentins. Wonderful homemade jams make great take home gifts. You will also be a short walk too another favorite of mine. Galleries Lafayette.
We are going to paris for Tahnksgiving week. Hve Fun.
