My husband and I have both been to Paris before and have seen the major sights(Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, etc.) We are on our way from Paris to Lausanne, and have from Saturday noon until Sunday noon to spend. Pitiful, but that%26#39;s the story. We will be arriving at CDG, our hotel is right at the Metro stop Porte Doree(the SE side of Metro map).
What can we do? Bateaux Mouches is a possibility for Sat. evening hour tour of city. Also, Sainte Chappelle was suggested to us, but don%26#39;t know if they%26#39;re open for touring Sun. AM.
Would love thoughts on the above, and other suggestions, especially for Sat. afternoon, dinner suggestion, and anything else you can think of to make it special, without feeling rushed to get to anything.
Thanks!!!

My best advice would be to hire a private guy who could take you from place to place and show you as much as possible either on Sat afternoon or Sun morning.
email me at go1to20@aol.com if you are interested and I will make some recommendations.

Thanks for the suggestion. We would like to stay pretty low key, sit at a outdoor cafe and relax a little, maybe go to 1 or 2 things. Luckily we%26#39;ve been to a lot of the popular tourist attractions before, so it would be nice to enjoy another side of Paris.
Anyone else?

There is a great restaurant (recommended by the NYT Paris correspondent) Chez Michel, Rue de Belzunce (metro Gare du Nord, then head to Bvd Magenta - Belzunce is off it). The food is phenomenal. Just check they%26#39;ll accept your credit card first.

We saw Ste-Chappelle on Sunday morning. It was empty and the light was just right. I have it in the trip report.
I don%26#39;t know how much the batobus is for one day but the hop on hop off part would give you both daytime and night river opportunities without being tied down.

Thanks so much for sharing your trip report. I learned a lot and it really gets me excited about going! I%26#39;m assuming the Batobus is a waterbus?

This site will give you all the Batobus info.

If you wished you would have time to do a Saturday afternoon walking tour with Paris walking tours. Their web site will be on the forum somewhere if you use the search function. I found I learned all sorts of little extra tidbits about places that I wouldn%26#39;t have found on my own so that might be intereting if you%26#39;ve done all the first order sites. At the end of the walk the guide made suggestions for nearby places to eat or things to do next. So you could play it by ear from that point onwrds.
