Is there a tax in Paris on food in restraunts?

When in Paris is there a tax on food in restraunts or in markets?

Whaterver tax is INCLUDED.

So is service, You do not have to tip unless you feel like it.

Is it included in the menu selection or is it added at the end of the bill?

Do you also not tip at all at a %26quot;haute cuisine%26quot; type of restaurant?

Menu prices include tax and tips. I think I tipped about 5 Euro on a 200EUR meal. I don%26#39;t care, it%26#39;s not like I%26#39;ll go back the next week/month. LOL.

Hello,

There is a tax on all restaurant food and on at least some food in markets, however, it is included in the price marked. It is quite hefty and most bills will break down the price paid on your receipt. It is INCLUDED in the price quoted on items and on the menu price in restaurants.......that price also includes a service charge. (though some say not always, I have never found the service charge not included).

So when you pay a bill it will be the same amount as marked on an item or on a menu..........everything is included. Somewhat as gas is sold here in the US.

Frankly I love the system. No additional anything. What is marked is what I pay....no additional sales tax. And yes if the service in a restaurant is especially good I can leave extra........or not.....but if it should happened to be lousy, they still have their tip.

Have fun,

Bea
