Hotel with a view! Louvre/Tuileries or Notre Dame

My husband and I are traveling back to Paris for our 5th anniversary in October. We would like something in the heart of Paris either nearby the Louvre/Tuileries or Notre Dame/Latin Quarter. Something with a nice view, but not too expensive. Any recommendations?

We stayed at the Hotel St. Jacques in the Latin Quarter, which %26quot;claimed%26quot; to have a view of Notre Dame, but all we could see was the side of one of the towers. But the hotel was clean, convenient, near some great restaurants, and it cost 118 Euros for two people. I%26#39;ve heard the Hotel Grand Des Ecole (down the street) is very nice too.

Check out the Hotel Brighton.....great views of the Louvre and the gardens. A friend stayed there in May and loved it, but some of the reviews have been borderline.

Canuck317 mentioned the Brighton. We stayed there in June and it was fine. We%26#39;ll stay there again. The rooms on the front side overlook the Tuileries and you can see the Louvre and Notre Dame from there, too.

If you decide on the Brighton, make sure to specify that you want to reserve a %26quot;Tuileries view%26quot; room.
