Just a quick overview of my twelve day trip to Paris.
Overall: wonderful, great, beyond expectations
Parisians: friendly, helpful
Saw all the sites we wanted to and more. (so much to say just can%26#39;t think of it all!!)
Enjoyed the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Arc de triomphe Everything was awesome.
The hotel we booked online - Angleterre Etoile, 21 Rue Copernic.... DO NOT STAY THERE!!!!! Someone had given me that advise (after I had booked) but I concur with that.
My husband and I had decided that as long as it wasn%26#39;t too bad we would stay there. TOO SMALL!!!!!!! Walk sideways between the wall and the bed. no airconditioning, no fridge, SMALL Closet. RUDE attendant (had the attitude that I didn%26#39;t know anything). the Lift was Halfway between floors, had to go up a set of stairs to get into the lift (no landing, I almost fell twice - I have bad ankles too.)
Note to all Canadians:::::
Be very careful with your Credit Card. My number was stolen, copied what ever you want to call it. And to think that I was so worried about pickpockets and happened!! My card ended up maxed and we were still to go to London. Thank goodness for my husband%26#39;s card.
Still overall a great trip.
May write more later, still a little overwhelmed, and tired.
Oh ya, if you are going to paris on your first major trip...only take half of what you think you need. Ya, I heard this before I went as well, have to tell you - it%26#39;s true!
;-)

Where do you think your card was copied? Did you buy in very small stores? How did you find outabout he fraudulent use of your card? After coming back home or while you were there?

*sighs* twelve days....
glad you had a good time despite the unfortunate hotel experience. and how awful about your credit card! But hey, sounds like you understand that overcoming adversity is half the adventure and didn%26#39;t let it ruin your trip. :)

Yes, I did do some shopping at small stores and I guess that is probably where it was copied from.
I called my bank when I had one day where none of my purchases were approved, (thats when I would call my hubby over and charge it to his card). At first I wasn%26#39;t alarmed because for the first few days, my card didn%26#39;t work at some stores but did work at others. Called and they said I was over my limit - NO I WASN%26quot;T - not according to my records - no one near. She read off some of the charges and I knew right away they weren%26#39;t mine. She also said that there were other canadians were having the same problem in France.
But...This was a trip to make a dream come true - i%26#39;ve wanted to go for about14 years or more.
We did get another hotel, and by the way, the Metro is soooo simple, I don%26#39;t know what I was afraid of !!
