Comment ça vous dites en français %26quot;personal check%26quot; ou %26quot; to write a check?%26quot; %26quot;Chèque personelle%26quot; va bien? Quelles expressions d%26#39;autre?
Merci bien!

%26quot;to write a check%26quot; - %26quot;´emettre un cheque%26quot;
%26quot;personal check%26quot; - %26quot;cheque personnel%26quot; :-), as opposed to: %26quot;banker%26#39;s draft%26quot; - %26quot;cheque de banque%26quot;
(sorry for the accents%26#39; looks, I try to get around the forum%26#39;s limitations re accents and umlauts)

Re using foreign checks, eg Belgian checks in France: French banks actively discourage acceptance of checks drawn on a foreign bank, even if the amount is in Euros. And it%26#39;s very expensive to cash them, can take ages too. Wire transfers are an alternative since special fees for most small (up to EUR 5000 EUR) cross-border wire transfers have been abolished.

I would say for %26quot;to write a check%26quot; : %26quot;rédiger un chèque%26quot;. Chèque personnel or just %26quot;chèque%26quot;. As for paying with a chèque from a different country, you would have to ask the bank if you can pay in a different country but personnally i wouldn%26#39;t try it. Try a Visa /Mastercard instead.
