Transport from Cannes

I have booked to stay at the Noga Hilton hotel in Cannes in a couple of weeks time. We are staying for 6 days and would like to take day trips to Monaco, Nice and Villefranche. Can anyone offer advice on return bus or train services to these locations. I%26#39;ve searched the web but can only find information for services from Nice. I would prefer bus as i%26#39;ve been told it%26#39;s quite a scenic route along the coast road.

Also, any idea on how long it takes to travel from Cannes to Monaco by either bus or train?

Train schedule for the coastal route:

Why do you think the train (following the coast) should be less scenic?

You are staying in a very nice hotel in Cannes....

I also believe using trains will be easier and more comfortable... I have used Cannes as a base and visited Nice and Monaco several times using trains... If I recall correctly it is a little less than an hour from Cannes to Monaco.

According to the schedule above, it is between 55 min and 1 h 8 min...

How much would I pay for the ticket?

How many trains per day between Nice, Cannes, Monaco, Aignon?

Sherry,

I just posted the whole timetable above.

As for the price, see at the SNCF page.

Thanks so much for your responses guys - you%26#39;ve been really helpful. The train it is then! It doesn%26#39;t take long at all and i didn%26#39;t realise the journey by train would be no less scenic than the bus. Thanks again.

The train from Cannes to Monaco is probably the most amazing train journey I have ever taken, it%26#39;s all along the beach from Cannes to Nice, then from Nice you come out of a tunnel and there is the most stunning bay, then another one and another one...the trian tracks are right on the very side next to teh sea so if you sit upstairs you feel as though you are travelling on top of the water, you also feel a bit like the train is going to topple over. It%26#39;s just amazing. And Monaco station is an amzing place, it%26#39;s a huge cave with hundreds of lights. One top is when you get to the station go up the escalator then turn right and down to the other side and go out of the door there. You can you walk down a set of stairs to the town. There is a church at the bottom which is really lovely to look at, and you end up on the road and opposite is the amazing swimming pool. This is the best part of town, I hated the casino and beach part, full of stupid tourists and Germans in coaches. Monaco Ville is the really villagey bit. Make sure you walk to the end of the harbour so you can get a full view of Monaco.
