The listing on tvg.com says its 40E and it seems like too much just for the 1 hr ride...do u know any cheaper train lines/sites?

There are non-TGV trains operating between Paris and Tours (they leave Paris from Austerlitz, rather than Montparnasse). I don%26#39;t know what the fares are, but you should check the SNCF website -- I%26#39;m guessing it%26#39;s probably sncf.fr or sncf.com.
These trains will cost less than TGV trains, but will also take longer. Also, if you book in advance, you will probably save money. All the fare options should be on the SNCF website.

Check sncf.com if they offer any PREM fares for this journey. PREM%26#39;s are discounted fares. Yes, that sounds quite alot for a short journey. For example, I paid a little of 50 euro from eastern France to Paris roundtrip with a PREM fare.

A Corail (no-TGV) train ticket from Tours gare to Paris Austerlitz is about 27 euros
