Abbatial St. Germain hotel?

Mother and 9 yo daughter are going to Paris in October. I%26#39;ve narrowed down the hotel, by location and price, to Abbatial St. Germain Hotel. I want to be in the Latin quarter but not a too crazy section for a kid to be and I want to take the RER to the hotel. with the price I am trying to stay under $200/night...this hotel cuts it very close and I%26#39;m not sure if I just go a bit higher to put me over $200, will bring me into a better class of hotel and is it worth it ? Plus, Does anyone have any strong opinions on this hotel and a suggestion on the best way/site/method to make a reservation?

It seems lots of people have strong opinions- all good! You have read this right?

You will be in the heart of the left bank on blvd Saint-Germain - and while I certainly wouldn%26#39;t call it %26quot;too crazy,%26quot; it is a very busy street. Your a short walk to the Seine from there.

I strongly recommend you book directly with the hotel - you can do that on-line at this site...

My brother and his wife stayed in this hotel in Feb.

They booked it using the web and found no problem with the reservation.

Good location , hotel not bad.

if you%26#39;d like an alternative, you might try the Hotel Saint Paul. I loved it, it%26#39;s on a quiet street but only two blocks from the Odeon metro stop on Blvd St Germain. Price would be in your range too....

staff was also wonderful with helping us thru a million questions.

Another option near Odeon metro stop is Left Bank Saint Germain, a 3-srat hotel in your range of price, loved this hotel for location, it was comfortable too, everything was very clean...I felt safe because there are always people in the streets...
