I%26#39;ve read many great reviews about Hotel Britannique and would love to stay there. However, my one concern is that they do not have non-smoking rooms. Since my husband and I are non-smokers and are relatively sensitive to the smell of cigarettes, have any past visitors had any problems with the smell of smoke in the rooms?
Thanks for your help and advice.

I have not stayed at the Britannique. But I can tell you that if smoking is allowed your room has a good chance of smelling of residual smoke. The housekeepers open the windows to air out the room, but many times the smoky smell is retained.

I stayed there twice, for a total of three days, in May and didn%26#39;t have a smoke problem with either room. Maybe I was just lucky. Note that this hotel is very popular with Americans and Brits, who I think have a lower smoking rate than the French, Italians, Germans, etc. I did see a couple of French and other Europeans at the hotel, but I didn%26#39;t see any of them smoking. Nor did I see anyone smoking in the breakfast room or the adjacent sitting room. As a matter of fact, I smelled something very nice in the sitting room area; it kind of smelled like the Annick Goutal fragrance --Eau d%26#39;Hadrien -- they have in their bathroom toiletries. I enjoyed sitting there.

Thanks for the posts! I%26#39;ll see if I can find a comparable hotel with non-smoking rooms just in case and then decide. :)

Pookster - I decided not to stay at the Hotel Britanique for that reason - I chose the Caron de Beaumarchais nearby in the Marais, the entire hotel is non-smoking.

Thanks for the recommendation, Asraix. I%26#39;ll be sure to check it out.

Non smoking room in Paris are kind of a novelty and French
people are not good at following rules. Their %26quot;free spirit%26quot; tends to put a twist to them...
