Need help planning a trip by Train to Paris from Disneyland

Need some advice please, I am travelling to Disneyland, staying for just 4 days, whilst there I would like to take the opportunity to see Paris.

I am not familiar with the French rail network and would welcome some advice on the best way to do this and what trains I need to take / stations and approx cost for adults and children to allow me to maximise our time in Paris.

The plan is to experience shopping on one day, then hopefully return another day to see some of the many sights.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks

You can take the RER (kind of faster metro) going to various Paris suburbs and through Paris itself.

The RER station is very close to the entrance gate of Disenyland... from which you will be on Line A. 15 stations later you will get off at the Charles DeGaulle / Etoile station below the Arc De Triumph and where the Champs Elysees starts. It is a 40 minutes trip.

Making the trip from Disneyland Paris into central Paris is about as simple as it gets. You simply go to the MARNE-La-VALEE/CHESSY RER station, located approx. 100 meters from the main entrance of DP and board any train that is leaving the station. ALL of the trains from there are RER A-4 trains which will take you into several RER stations located across the center of the city..and make connections with several different Metro lignes to everywhere else in Paris. To return to DP, you simply take any RER A-4 train, heading in the direction of Marne-La-Valee/Chessy (all of these trains will have a four letter train-designator, beginning with %26#39;..Qxxx..%26#39;) to the end-of-the-ligne. Within reasonable limits, the commute is just about %26#39;..idiot-proof..%26#39;. The train travel time between DP and Paris will vary from 35 to 45 minutes each way.

The only question you really need to resolve is which ticket or transportation pass option will work best for your itinerary. Disneyland Paris is located out in Zone 5. The regular, round-trip RER fare is 12,40 Euro...but in addition to this, you will probably also need Metro and/or Bus transportation within Paris itself. Provided the individual days of the week correspond to it, your BEST BET for this will be a weekly CARTE ORANGE (Zone 1-5) weekly transportation pass. This will cover all of your RER trips plus all of your Metroa/Bus fares within Paris and hop-on/hop-off convenience. The cost of this pass is 30,90 Euro. If the days of the week of your itinerary do not correspond to the CARTE ORANGE pass option, then your next best bet will be a five(5) consecutive day PARIS VISITE (Zone 1-5) transportation pass, at 45,70 Euro. Once again, this pass will cover your RER fares to and from Paris and provide you with hop-on/hop-off access to all Metro/Bus transportation in Paris.
