If this was your first trip to Paris, and you wanted to choose only ONE Restaurant for a truly wonderful dining experience, including view, ambience, service, friendliness. Where would you choose to go?

Here you go:
1. Aux Lyonnais (an Alain Ducasse charmer near the bourse)
2. Bofinger. A traditional French restaurant.
3. Brasserie Lipp. Things are probably the same here as they were 75 years ago.

For ultimute view, good food - if not fabulous - and special event atmosphere: Jules Verne at la Tour Eiffel.
For ambiance, fun and warmth and a Parisian experience: an elegant picnic - tablecloth, glasses, wine, cheese and dessert - on Pont des Arts on a glorious late afternoon!

In 1980 it was recommended from a friend who went to paris to a cooking school - Le Souffle. It was amazing and we have been recommending this since. A few months ago friends went and said it was the BEST. We are planning on eating there again in April. Grand Mariner and Chocolate Souffles. And this is after you have one of the dinner ones. Yum

Oh my goodness, they all sound wonderful. I think we%26#39;ll probably have to do more than one!
Merci

We went to La Fermette Marbeuf (in Champs Elysees) close to George V Metro stop. It was delicious! We had the set menu (I think it was around $30Euor pp) and was awesome!

Fouquet%26#39;s on the Champs d%26#39;Elysee is one of my favorites.

For me, if there was only one restaurant to go, it would be le Grand Colbert, 2 rue Vivienne (near Bourse and Jean-Paul Gaultier shop). It is a real French traditionnal restaurant that I really love a llot.
Watch this to have a taste of the ambiance :

If you want to see it live, it%26#39;s where Diane Keaton, Jack Nicholson and Keanu Reeves have a dinner at the end of Something’s Gotta Give.
It is mandatory to make a reservation.

I ate at Brasserie Lipp but didn%26#39;t really enjoyed it as we had an impatient waiter who sighed at us! I had dinner at Bofinger which was very good. But my favourite would be Le petit zinc, rue St Benoît near the Church St Germain des Prés (great 1900 decoration and Delicious food), La Coupole on Montparnasse boulevard, and my last find was on rue Montorgueil at Le Rocher de Cancale (try the awesome desserts)...and i absolutely loved the Boeuf sur le Toit (cow on the roof) rue du Colisée, one of my best meals...among the afordable restaurants. Have never afforded the expensive ones

Jules Verne is a real treat for anyone on their first visit to Paris, great views, great food, great service, (probably a little more formal than other places.)
For a real blow-out, then L%26#39;Arpege, which is No. 26 in best restaurants in the world. The food is undescribably excellent, the service is exceptional and the staff take great pride in their food, happily explaining dishes, and nothing is too much trouble. Be warned - it%26#39;s also one of the most expensive restaurants in Paris, but even the Parisians will be envious of your reservation!
For a more normal experience, then wandering around backstreets looking for places frequented by locals, or ask your hotel for a recommendation. The French seem very much like the Italians, in that recommending good restaurants is a matter of pride.

I already have Le%26#39; Grand Colbert on my dinner list as a MUST, and now, after looking at that beautiful photo, I%26#39;m sending in my reservation tonight!
I also watched the movie again on Sunday, just to see the reataurant scene! Can%26#39;t wait!
