Distance from CDG to Montparnasse railway station

Hello there,

Can someone please tell me the distance between CDG to Montparnasse railway station? Is it walkable, if not, what is the best mode of transport? Will taking a taxi be expensive? Are there shuttle services from the airport to the train station?

Thank you,

Try searching for %26quot;Montparnasse%26quot; and you%26#39;ll get some answers.

Best direct option is a bus, less than €10 I%26#39;d say.

I can%26#39;t say exactly how long it%26#39;ll take but the direct train from airport to town is about 35 minutes so I%26#39;d imagine that the bus is a little longer.

CDG is the airport at Roissy, France - therefore it is not even in Paris. There is a train (called RER for short) that leaves from the Terminal 2 at CDG and goes to several stops in Paris.

The nearest stop on the RER train to Montparnasse is at Denfert Rochereau. You get off the train, and go down into the metro /subway (same station) and take Line 6 to Montparnasse. Line 6 has two %26#39;ends%26#39; - you want to go toward %26quot;Charles de Gaulle Etoile%26quot; - but get off at Montparnasse Bienvenue.

The metro / subway station is underground at the Gare Montparnasse train station. This train station is very large - you will have to walk quite a ways to get over to the actual train area, ticket windows, tracks...

If you prefer, you could take the RER from CDG to Denfert Rochereau, but then just walk outside and get a taxi to Gare Montparnasse, probably for less than 10Euro.

The RER ticket that you%26#39;ll need to buy at CDG will be about 8Euro. The ride will take about 45 minutes. Watch your luggage and belongings, as pickpockets know that tourists ride this train.

A taxi from CDG airport all the way to Gare Montparnasse will cost about 50Euro, rough estimate. That will take close to an hour. At the airport, look for the signs at the exits for %26quot;Taxi%26quot; and go out to the line of taxis. Do NOT accept a ride from someone inside the terminal, as they most certainly will overcharge you.

Whoops, I missed one more answer.

Yes, the Air France bus route #4 will go from the airport to Montparnasse (I think it stops at Gare de Lyon also, so just stay on until Montparnasse). The bus costs about 13Euro - buy a ticket from the bus driver. You should see the signs at the exits for the shuttles. The Air France coach has %26quot;Air France%26quot; in large signage on the sides of the buses, not to confuse them with any other shuttles.

Use air france bus often, takes on average about 45 mins, drops u off outside montparnasse railway station, one stop on way at gare de lyon, buses have one pick up point at terminal 1 and a number at terminal 2 none at terminal 3, u need to take airport shuttle to either 1 or 2.( air france stops next door to shuttle stops) runs every 30 mins, buses are air cond, cost last september was just under 10 euros. Just walk your luggage trolly to bus stop, porters load and unlod cases for you. Overhead signs in airport show route to buses.
