I am taking my teenage daughter to Cannes and want to do some real cool things in that riviera area. Any suggestions on where to eat that won%26#39;t cost a fortune and things to do in the area that are geared to 13 year old girls . She likes to shop, go to the beach and a little local culture. I%26#39;d love a little direction. Thanks

Hi ebba,
I think from your daughter%26#39;s point of view, you have chosen a good base.
Cannes has great beaches, and fantastic shopping on the Croisette, Rue d%26#39;Antibes, and a little more economically on the Rue Maynardier.
If you could be more specific about what%26#39;s cool, and approximately when you are going, I%26#39;m sure some suggestions for things to do will be forthcoming.

If 13-year-old girls like what 15 and 17-year-old girls like, she%26#39;ll love shopping. Before leaving, I scoped out some stores that cater to teens, but had reasonable prices and steered my girls there. Etam and Promod were the two we found. They both have stores in Nice, but you can check their websites to see about Cannes. We also headed out to Villefranche sur Mer by train one day (7 min. from Nice). It%26#39;s a real cute little town with a picturesque harbor and a nice (almost) sand beach - small pea-sized pebbles. Our dinner on Rue Massena in Nice included some pretty good street entertainment. My girls also enjoyed renting bikes (or foot-powered scooters) on the Promenade des Anglais.

%26quot;Pimkie%26quot; is a clothing store for teens and is located on Rue D%26#39;Antibes, which runs parallel to the Croisette just a few blocks back. There are many other reasonably priced shops there.
Your also not far from Juan-les-Pins, a teen paradise. Go in the evening for shopping, restaurants, etc. Mougins would be another nice place to stroll, although more sophisticted. You could sign up for a Mom/daughter cooking class in Mougins! www.moulindemougins.com/uk/navigation.htm
