Hi,
Please can anyone help, I have travelled all over the world and have dined at some pretty fancy places and not so fancy places with the kids (boys aged 3 %26amp; 6).
What is the general attitude with the french and kids in restaurants. The kids are pretty well behaved though the 3 year old does sometimes like to have a bit of a wonder and make a bit of noise but come on he is 3 !!!.
Some countries seem to be more child friendly than others what is the general french attitude to shock horror a child in restaurant making a little bit of noise.
We are very relaxed parents but at the same time do not like to disturb other diners. However us parents are out there and we are trying to educate are kids responsibly so a good step which we have been doing for yaers is getting the kids acostomed to eating out with manners.
Thanks !!!

There are %26quot;family%26quot; restaurants such as Chez Clement and Hippopotamus, maybe Leon de Bruxelles, and generally cafe/brasserie-type places that aren%26#39;t formal....
I probably wouldn%26#39;t take them to a small intimate bistro or starred restaurant, or any place similar.

Just came home with a nine-year old. Never had a problem. Most restaurants will post menus. Read carefully. Look for %26quot;the formula%26quot; set meals with the best prices for the kids.

We travelled with a 3 and 5 year old and all restaurants were extremely accomodating of our children. They were well behaved, though we came prepared with table toys (minature farm sets) and their travel journals with postcards, glue sticks, etc., that we pulled out after ordering at dinner time. The kids were good for 1.5-2 hours of dining time, which is longer than we typically dine at home. I think they appreciated the opportunity to sit and enjoy a meal as much as we did after so much touring during the day.
We had the kids order their own meals and say please and thank you in french which I think helped.
