Living in my own beautiful rainy city, I%26#39;ve learned to embrace the rain as a great time for hot coffee, dreamy soup restaurants, or walks with %26#39;hot clutchables%26#39;
What is your favorite activity in the rain? Best spots for a hot beverage or soup? Best windows to watch the weather whip around outside? Best walk between the rain drops?
I%26#39;ll be there this weekend rain or shine and am determined to enjoy both!

Hot chocolate at Angelin%26#39;s on Rivoli street.

Sleep in.
Nice and long breakfast.
A museum, preferably a small one.
Maybe a movie.
A walk under the rain. Doesn%26#39;t hurt.
Tea or a drink in the lobby of a nice hotel (Meurice, Crillon, George V, etc.)
Early dinner, not later than 8 PM, in a cozy neighbourhood bistrot.

A thunderstorm just rolled through the city and now it%26#39;s sunny. We had a fabulous lunch at our favorite restaurant in the Marais (listening to the rain on their terrace while we ate) and then a pleasant walk home, just when it started to pour.
Sharing an umbrella and walking slowly in the old Marais is pretty hard to top for a rainy day activity.

Does anyone knows if there are cinamas showing movies in English in case of rainy days in paris with three youngsters? A bag of popcorns and a shut-eye would be welcome.
|||
Yes, movies are often shown in the original language. Mostly, not on the Champs-Eysées, but rather in Saint-Germain des Prés, Quartier Latin and in Montparnasse (lots of movie theaters there).
Just make sure it says %26#39;V.O.%26#39; at the entrance of the theater which means, it will be in the original version (version original) which, for an English or American movie would be in English and with French undertitles.
Incase it says V.F. (version française), the movie will be dubbed.

All the major theaters show American and English films in %26quot;VO%26quot; (version originale) with french subtitles except some matinees (VF). You%26#39;ll have no problem.

I may be sick, but I love to walk (with appropriate clothes!!) during november rainy days in Tuileries Garden, from Concorde to le Louvre, then get as Raphy a hot chocolate at Angelina under rue de Rivoli Arcade.
|||
Ah.... now I DO know why Angelina is always so overrun.
That place is a true nightmare for me. Franchement!

Today we had lunch on the terrace of Delicabar, the Bon Marche%26#39;s restaurant. The food was original, to say the least, the menu was so pretentious that it made for some great entertainment and we were well protected by huge umbrellas as the rain poured all around us.!!!
I also love tea at Laduree and L%26#39;Artisan des Saveurs, rue du Cherche Midi, but my family%26#39;s all time favorite rainy day activity is haunting the local bookstores (just spent an hour at Chntelivre with the kids).
PS After the first week at the box office, kids movies are only avail in V.O. in the evenings. Cite des Sciences is a great rainy day activity with the kiddies. Palais des Decouvertes, too. And if it is just a passing summer shower the Rodin Gardens are the place to be as the sand is prime for playing once the rain has gone and the cafe is a nice place for a snack while it passes.

Visit the covered art galleries at Place des Vosges, the jewish boutiques in the Marais to buy a new mezouzah (jewish lucky charm) for my home, then have a felafel at l%26#39;As du felafel.
