Hello, can you help? I%26#39;ve been to Paris a few times years ago, but stayed in economy, business type accomodations. I%26#39;m bringing my teenage daughter for her first visit to France. She%26#39;s thrilled and I want this trip to create fond memories. I%26#39;m hoping for a very Parisian hotel (not too intimate/not too large), with charm and ambiance, yet modern and comfortable (in the US - I usually choose Courtyard by Marriott). Ideally, there%26#39;d be a balcony overlooking the Eiffel Tower. A metro nearby. Maybe even a quaint patisserie/creperie a stone%26#39;s throw away. Ok . . . I%26#39;m dreamin%26#39; now. Have you stayed somewhere that matches this description? P.S. Less than $200 a night. Many thanks for any advice.

Investigate the Duquesne Eiffel in the 7th...

Have reservations at the Hotel Muguet (11 rue Chevert) in 7th Arr. - this September at rate of 108 per night. Don%26#39;t know about balcony, but understand some of their rooms look out toward the E. Tower (Room #51 supposingly has a great view). They have Internet in the Lobby, fyi. Hotel gets good reviews from travelers and Rick Steves.
Rue Cler Market is not far from the hotel (http://www.parismarkets.net.RueCler.html) - this web site gives you a listing and pictures of the various shops....there is a creperie on Rue Cler (next to Cafe du Marche, Cler/r. du Champ de Mars, as well as at the base of the Eiffel Tower Meto Ecole Militaire Station closeby. You can catch a boat tour Vedettes de Paris - which boards at the foot of the Eiffel Tower (call them up on web and print coupon for 2 off per person).
Hope this helps. Enjoy Paris. Hope your daughter will bring back home memories to last a life time.

Merci Beaucoup Travelnutty and NatureGirl . . I am investigating your suggestions right now. I%26#39;m so jazzed!
Give me a pain chocolat and I%26#39;m good to go!!! By the way, my daughter has her heart set on coming home with a %26quot;French%26quot; [but of course] bottle of perfume. Where might one find the best selection/prices. I know %26quot;packaging%26quot; is everything to her. It%26#39;ll have to look/smell FRENCH. And to those who%26#39;ve been in the gift shops lately at Tour Eiffel . . is all the jewelry cheap/tacky or might she be able to find a nice (sterling silver) Eiffle Tower necklace or charm? Thank-you ever so patient advisors!

We just (last week) stayed at the Hotel Ares Tour Eiffel in the 15th, right on the edge of the 7th. Great Parisian charm, 5 minute walk from the tower, lots of bakeries, cafes near by, also close to Rue Cler. We could see the Tower from the balcony of our 6th floor room.

Sephora has several locations in Paris - check this web site for the comments written by shoppers - your daughter is bound to find a scent of her liking in these stores - plus cosmetics heaven so I%26#39;ve heard. Haven%26#39;t been there myself but will visit them in September
Another department store, Galeries Lafayette, 40 Blvd. Haussman. Store was built in 1894 and supposingly is a shopper%26#39;s paradise - has six restaurants so you might want to treat your daughter to lunch.
If your daughter wants to bring back souvenirs re Eiffel Tower, there is a vendor %26quot;Maison Paris%26quot; on #5 Quai de Montebello (near Notre Dame on Left Bank) that sells Eiffel Tower keychains like 10 for 2 Euro - Pierrick, the owner, has good quality products - relatively inexpensive products (so a traveler advised on a different travel forum). Enjoy!

Try Hotel du Rond Point de Longchamp. There%26#39;s a recent review here at Tripadvisor.com where there%26#39;s a posted photo of the guest%26#39;s balcony plus Eiffel Tower view. We stayed there a long time ago, not in a view room, but the street faced rue de Longchamp. It%26#39;s a nice hotel, old-style, charming.

I hope it will be helpfull

My teenage daughters and I were lookiing for the same thing - on a budget. We stayed in the Hotel Turenne near the Ecole Militare metro stop near the Eiffel Tower. We had a triple room located like an artist%26#39;s garet in the roof of the hotel. Since we had a corner room, it had three large windows that opened wide over a beautiful area of Paris and afforded a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower.
One night I woke up in the middle of the night to find my 15-year-old leaning out the window, gazing at the Eiffel Tower twinkling, like it does every hour!
It cost 102 euros for a triple. The metro is just around the corner, there%26#39;s a BNP Paribus ATM and a laundry right across the street and a cute little grocery with patisserie (Shopi) right next to the metro. Great lunch and snack stuff. (weekend special - 4 euros for a baguette sandwich, pastry and a drink).

Try parisperfect.com. They have gorgeous apartments that overlook the Eiffel tower and some of the small ones are in your price range.
