I woke up at 5am this morning and on a lark decided to buy Eurostar tickets for a day trip to London. I have been to London twice (love it), but my sister has never been so this is going to be a surprise for her during our trip to Paris, she will not know until we get to the train station ( I hope I can keep the secret :-). My question and I should be able to figure this out and maybe it is just because I woke up so earlier today. On the eurostar website it says that times listed on tickets are local times. So if we leave Paris at 6:37 am and arrive in London at 8:26 am is 8:26 London time? I know that London time is 1 hour earlier than Paris. Help a sleep deprived vacation planner. 1 1/2 months to go I just cannot wait, first time to Paris.
Merci

Yes the times are all listed as local times so you arrive in London at 8:26 am London time.

As posted, the departure and arrival times are %26#39;..local..%26#39; and take into account the one(1) hour time difference between Paris (UCT+1) and London (UTC). The Paris/London/Paris itinerary itinerary works better for the purpose.,The %26#39;actual %26#39; elapsed Eurostar travel time is approx 2:35 hrs.....but by the %26#39;clock%26#39; it works out to 1:35 hrs. This local time change effectively provides you with an %26#39;..extra..%26#39; hour in the day for your excursions about London. You will of course have to %26#39;give back%26#39; the extra hour upon your return...but you%26#39;ll probably be so tired from a busy day of London touring, sightseeing and shopping that you%26#39;ll probably %26#39;sleep through it%26#39; on the return trip to Paris.
The %26#39;..trick..%26#39; to this day-trip is to find the best available Eurostar train fare for your date and time of travel. For this, you will need to check the available sources and compare fares. In most iinstances, the regular SNCF (French National Railways) web site-- www.voyages-sncf.com/dynamic/_SvHomePage… will generate the best fares...but you should also check and compare the fares offered through the direct EUROSTAR web site-- eurostar.com/cgi-bin/eurostar/login_en.jsp. And also check with the RailEurope web site for any %26#39;specials%26#39; they may be offering-- http://www.raileurope.com/us/index.htm --just a s a cross reference.
In the process, it%26#39;s best to %26#39;..tinker..%26#39; with these sites, experimenting with different travel days of the week and times(within the limits of your overall itinerary). As an example, there may be %26#39;..shopper%26#39;s special..%26#39; fares being offered for weekend dates, etc.
