Temps while we will be in Paris are expected have highs of high 70%26#39;s to low 80%26#39;s with lows in the 50/60%26#39;s, this coming week. I just realized the hotel we booked does not have a/c. We will only be in the room at night. I normally like my in-house temp in the low 70%26#39;s. Is it gonna be stuffy at night? If we open the windows, will it be too noisy? Not sure that you can neccessarily no my likes and dislikes...just hoping for some encouragement that it will be ok!

Hello Rick,
It is a tough one to answer, because it depends on numerous factors. Such as, is your room facing the courtyard, which is always more quiet, but less breeze, or the street? If it faces the street, will your room be on the lower floors, or the more quiet upper floors? Also, what sort of street is your hotel located on? A narrow one way street, or a wide boulevard? These things can make a differance, but all in all I would say that if you choose to wear earplugs while you sleep it probably won%26#39;t be an issue at all to have the windows open at night. Have fun on your trip!!!

%26lt;%26lt; will it be too noisy?%26gt;%26gt;
Definitely depends on the exact location!

Yeah! What lasscass said!
Good answer!

...and if desperate you could ask for a fan, or if not forthcoming, buy one!
We just survived the early July weather (31 C top temp but often still mid 20%26#39;s at night) because some of our windows opened onto the courtyard and we left them open at night. Fling all the windows open when you get home to cool the place down and if the noise or security mandates it, close them the minute before you go to sleep.

%26lt;%26lt;... room facing the courtyard, which is always more quiet...%26gt;%26gt;
Basically, I would agree. But then, you CAN have neighbours who leave the window open and won%26#39;t stop to talk or laugh...

Thanks for the responses - RC

I do not have AC in my apartment which is standard for Paris older buildings.
Keep drapes and shutters close during the day.
Open windows at night.
I have a fan that I carry from room to room. Has not been that hot yet indoors. It has been on the streets however.
Get ear plugs in case of neighbors having more fun than you.

That is how hot it was when I was there earlier this month. We had no AC but a huge old window that opened onto a court yard. It was very cool and so refreshing.

I guess I am just spoiled, but we had no air today at school, lightening hit it last night. (yes we are already back to work, unreal that we go back to work July 26). We almost died today. I am in the media center with no windows, had to be 130+ in there. I am so wiped out I don%26#39;t even want dinner. My highest priority for our trip next July is ac. Maybe I am just getting to old.

I left Paris yesterday and my room was on the third floor facing the traffic, I stayed on Haussman blvd. The hardrock cafe was next door to the hotel. The room was not hot at all, I can not tolerate heat at all. I left the window open all day and closed them slightly at night. The noise did not bother me at all, maybe coming from NY, it did not effect me at all. Only time the noise affected me was on my first day there, I was on NY time and went to bed early, went I woke up I could not tell if it was night or day, the streets were noisy( it does not get dark in Paris until almost 10:00 pm.

It does depend on location. Assuming yhour room has windows that open, you should be ok....but do have ear plugs - they can be like little tufts of magic :)
PS Earplugs are very useful to get sleep in planes too.
