Has anyone had any experience with using Paristay.com? My wife is looking at using them to book an apartment for the fall. I can%26#39;t find any information or reviews about them (other than what they themselves provide). They want a pretty hefty deposit wired to the apartment owner -- is that standard?

I haven%26#39;t used ParisStay so couldn%26#39;t say one way or the other.
I have used Paris Perfect and recommend them highly!
Yes, it is normal to have the deposit and usually the full amount of the rental paid to reserve - typically wired into their accounts.
The two apartments I have rented, I had no difficulties getting my deposit back and found the owners to be lovely.
You can go directly to Parisperfect.com. They specialize in apartments with Eiffel Tower view. Their Paris manager is an American who is efficient and good. Madelyn/Philipe are the owners. I had stayed at the Suffren apartment in January and February of this year.
I went back in May. The Suffren apartment was already booked, so I booked an apartment from www.vrbo.com #40407 in the 11th with Herve Simon. He is a charming and gracious man who is a true artist. I felt like I was living in a work of art-he built it. It even had a piano.
Paris Perfect%26#39;s apartments can be seen on VRBO.com too.
I paid deposits of 600 Euro at each place.

alaskaitaly...any pointers for someone also renting from paris perfect in november.
we have the sancerre apartment. phillipe and madelyn sent us the 23 page list of info and it all looks great.
did you find it was all accurate and good info to have, did you have any mishaps in getting there and having someone meet you at the apartment? Anything you would have loved to have at the apartment, but didn%26#39;t?

I was in the Suffren apartment. Carolyn, their manager, was very helpful and efficient. All the information was correct and detailed.
I did have some problems come up in the apartment (I had rented for a month) and they handled them. I wanted a sharp knife and a mixer - Carolyn brought over a mixer type thing and they reimbursed me for a knife I bought.
The espresso/coffee maker broke and she would have brought a new one for me that day if I had wanted.
Their cleaning crew is also FAB!
Madelyn and Philipe are great.
