Are Australian Dollars widely accepted at banks and bureau de change in France?
First trip to Paris.

Probably not the cheapest way to get money in Paris. Withdrawing cash at an ATM from your savings account or from your Visa is probably better.
Go to see your own bank first and ask them what arrangements they have for their cutomers overseas. Ask what the charges are per transaction too.
I think the charge on all Visa transactions is 2.5% but if you%26#39;re with Westpac and organise the right type of account with them beforehand you can get free withdrawals. See what your bank can do for you first.

Absolutely follow the previous advice. Money bureaus will provide the absolute worst exchange rate possible. Use your ATM cards and credit cards (but check for hidden fees first).

Even with the 2.5% charge on credit cards, you%26#39;ll still be way better than using exchange bureau. Few people can get better rates than credit card(with 2.5%) or ATM cards exchange rates unless you can exchange money at wholesale rates, like US$100,000 or you work for banks.

Check with your bank about their ATM and foreign exchange fees.My Bank of America card is part of the Global ATM Alliance which includes BNP Paribas in France,Barclays in the UK,Deutsche Bank in Germany, and Westpac in Australia.Using
any of the member bank%26#39;s ATMs is fee-free in regards to ATM charges.Everbank is my favorite debit card in any country as they charge no foreign currency exchange fees at all,and I will
withdraw my daily limit each day if the rates are good for future trips and as a currency investment.
